This thesis comprehensively studies the essence and content of the "constitutional basis of local self-government". It examines the typology of basic models of local self-government. The scientific-experience of Ukrainian and foreign scientists about the typology of constitutional basis of local self-government is generalized and systematized. It reveals the mechanisms of constitutional and legal regulation of basis of local self-government in Ukraine and EU member states. The dissertation’s introduction justifies the choice of topic. It identifies the connection between working with scientific programs, plans, themes and grants. It determines the objectives, tasks, subject-matter and methods of research. The scientific novelty and practical value of the results are presented. It demonstrates the personal contribution of the applicant, tests the dissertation’s materials, structure and volume. The first section "Theoretical-methodological and historical foundations of the constitutional basis of local self-government" describes the state of scientific development of the issue of the model; concept and features of the model; the methodological basis for the study of the model; the genesis of constitutional models of local self-government in the member states of the European Union in general and particularly in Ukraine.
