Essay

The dissertation dwells on the diverse analysis of the identification, formation, actualization and criteria of the onymic landscape (OL) as an onomastic aspect of the existence of the language world model. The paper highlights a new theoretical and methodological concept for the cognitive measurement of the OL parameters, which are based on the cognitive conceptualization of the information space in its memetic aspect, as well as the representation of ideas about proper names in the minds of native speakers as an integral part of the language world model. The study of the architectonics of the OL as a combination of cultural information units contributes to the establishment of the parameters of the universal constants of diverse language systems, reveals the memetic nature of proper names as language universals, cultural and social artifacts. The theoretical and methodological foundations of the OL mapping are devised as a branch of cognitive onomastics, which explores the phenomenon of proper names in the socio-cultural, lingvocognitive and memetic aspects of the language world model. The bases of a new direction of cognitive-discursive, lingvocultural interpretation of proper names as a complex memetic structure have been provided, which is highlighted in the OL. The research focuses on the theoretical and methodological concept of the OL parameterization, describes the meme phenomenon as a cognitive information structure and an onymic component, highlights the concretization of its different features, observes concept of onymic identity, and describes conceptual discrepancies in the following terminological system: onymic space, onymic field, and onymic frame.
