Object: fiscal space for health care in the system of public social functions. Subject: theoretical and methodological foundations, institutional and applied aspects of the formation, transformation and development of the fiscal space for health care in the system of public social functions. Purpose: development of the conceptual framework and practical recommendations for the development of the fiscal space for health care in the system of public social functions and ensuring the sustainability of public finance. Methods: theoretical generalization; historical and logical; analysis and synthesis; comparative analysis; correlation and regression analysis; mathematical modeling and forecasting. Novelty: a conceptual approach to the development of the fiscal space for healthcare has been developed, which consists in ensuring the sustainability of public finances in the context of demographic changes and methodological approaches to its diagnosis, assessment and forecasting in the medium and long term are substantiated. The results were used by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
