The lexicographic, lexicosemantic, linguostylistic linguocognitive analysis of I. S. Nechuy-Levytsky’s linguistic creativity provides an objective assessment of the writer’s role in the development of Ukrainian literary language of the second half of the XIX – beginning of the XX century: visualizes the variety of author’s vocabulary as a source of language dictionaries compiling («Dictionary of the Ukrainian Language», edited by B. Grinchenko, Dictionary of Ukrainian in 11 volumes, Dictionary of Synonyms of Ukrainian), which capture and codify the norms of the Ukrainian literary language of the XX century; reveals peculiarities of the textual realization of the INTELLIGENCE concept, modeling of the city image, linguistic structures of individual author's artistic thinking, which belong to the linguoaesthetic signs of Ukrainian culture.
