The research substantiates and develops theoretical and methodological foundations of professional training of future specialists in security and safety. The concept of professional training of future specialists in security and safety is substantiated, covering methodological, theoretical and technological concepts.The features of the professional training of security and safety professionals in the European educational experience are the following: transparent entry conditions; diversification, stages of development and implementation of educational programs; transformation of educational activity into professional; optimal conditions for free choice of individual educational trajectory; internships abroad; providing an interdisciplinary perspective with a focus on the professionalization of practical training; focus on advanced learning; consistency with EU requirements, needs; innovativeness, interactivity, reflectivity, facilitation of forms, methods and technologies of learning. The use of progressive ideas of the European experience in Ukraine optimizes the improvement of the legal, substantive and technological components of the training of future specialists in security and safety.The basic provisions of the author’s concept of professional training of specialists in security and safety are developed and scientifically substantiated, namely: basic concepts, purpose, tasks, principles, priority tasks, directions of improvement of training of future specialists and expected results. The basic concept of the research is based on fundamental philosophical, sociological, psychological, pedagogical, military provisions on the laws of social development, internal and external security of the state, higher education, professional training of specialists in security and safety, as well as the provision that the formation of professional competence is a strategic direction for improving the system of professional training of security and safety professionals.The system of professional training of future specialists in security and safety has been developed, which consists of interconnected units (target, theoretical, methodological, content-technological, diagnostic-effective). The organizational and pedagogical conditions for the professional training of security and security professionals have been identified and created: the development of motivation for future security and safety professionals to pursue their professional activity; structuring the content of professional training of specialists in security and safety on the basis of integration of fire, tactical, psychological, legal components; the use of information technologies in the organization of independent work of future specialists in security and security; improvement of special physical training of future specialists in security and safety; modeling of quasi-professional situations aimed at awareness of the importance of personal security for professional activity. The structure of professional competence of specialists in security and safety, which contains motivational, cognitive, operational, personal components, is substantiated. The content of professional training of future specialists in security and safety (thematic filling of professional disciplines) and diagnostic (assessment methods) tools have been improved. The criteria for the formation of professional competence of future specialists in security and safety are specified: motivational-value, cognitive-informational, activity-effective, emotional-volitional. Further development was gained: meaningful content of key concepts of “security”, “security activity”, “professional training of a specialist in security and safety”; pedagogical tools (forms, methods, technologies, teaching aids); peculiarities of professional activity and training of specialists in security and safety in foreign experience.Training, methodological and logistical support for the formation of professional competence of future security and safety specialists is proposed. The results obtained in the course of the experimental research testify to the effectiveness of the developed author’s concept and model of the system of professional training of future specialists in security and safety.
