Object of study: the processes of functioning of financial mechanisms for the implementation of state regional policy in Ukraine. Purpose: development of theoretical-methodological and scientific-methodological foundations of functioning of financial mechanisms of implementation of state regional policy in Ukraine and development of practical recommendations for their improvement in the conditions of administrative and financial decentralization. Methods: theoretical generalization, comparison, analysis, historical and logical, systematization, grouping, comparisons, inductions and deductions, graphic, economic and statistical analysis, grouping, index analysis, factor analysis, strategic and structural-functional analysis, program-target, algorithm construction. Novelty: for the first time the concept of modernization of financial mechanisms of implementation of state regional policy in the conditions of decentralization was proposed, methodological bases of research of financial mechanisms of implementation of state regional policy were substantiated, methodical approach to assessing the level of inclusiveness of territorial development was developed; terminological apparatus for the study of financial mechanisms for the implementation of state regional policy by adjusting the essence of concepts, systematization of financial mechanisms for the implementation of state regional policy in the context of budget and non-budget segments according to the criteria of resource support, financial instruments and purpose assignment, scientific provisions for harmonization of processes of modernization of the state regional policy and implementing decentralization reform in terms of risks overcoming, organization and financial mechanism for distribution of the state fund for regional development, approaches to the creation and financial support functioning of funds for regional development in the regions were improved. Scope of application: in the work of central and regional authorities, in particular: the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine in the preparation of the draft National Strategy for Regional Development until 2020 and the draft Law of Ukraine "On the Principles of State Regional Policy"; the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine in the preparation of two draft laws of Ukraine; The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine in the elaboration of projects on acceptance of financial assistance from international financial organizations; Lviv Regional State Administration during the development of the Program of socio-economic and cultural development of the Lviv region for 2018, as well as the Strategy for the development of mountain areas of the Lviv region for 2018-2022.
