The thesis thoroughly and comparatively analyzes the quality training of future primary/elementary school teachers in the USA and the UK, which is the basis for improving the methodological level of educational research and a source of borrowing best practices for introducing some of its elements in the educational practice in Ukraine, specifies the trends in the training for future primary/elementary school teachers in the USA and the UK, compares the models of teacher training in the above-mentioned countries, discloses some characteristics, types, forms and technologies in the training for primary/elementary school teachers in the USA and the UK, as well as the approaches to selecting and structuring the content of educational material for such training, some characteristics of scientific and methodical support of this process, clarifies the innovative ideas of the US and the UK experience, justifies the potential for their use in the training for primary/elementary school teachers in higher education institutions in Ukraine, improves the provisions for implementing the proactive approach in professional development of teachers in Ukraine under the conditions of globalization processes and further develops comparative studies on the training for future primary/elementary school teachers, as well as the potential for the creative use of the innovative foreign experience in the system of updating the educational system in Ukraine. The thesis describes the process of forming and developing teacher education in higher education institutions, theoretically substantiates the stages in the formation and development of teacher education in higher education institutions in the USA and the UK and discloses some characteristic trends in the innovative development of education in these countries. The modern tendencies of development of pedagogical education in the studied countries (globalization, transnationalization, internationalization, digitization, diversification, decentralization, humanization, institutionalization, continuity of education, modernization) are analyzed. It also highlights the conceptual background and the legislative framework of the training for future primary/elementary school teachers in the USA and the UK. The thesis reveals the priority trends in the modernization of the training for future primary/elementary school teachers in the USA and the UK in the early 21st century and, in particular, the model of today’s school education and the structure of the training for primary/elementary school teachers. It justifies the trends in some priority vectors in the modernization of secondary and higher education in the USA and the UK. The thesis studies the system of training primary/elementary school teachers, the specifics of the educational process in teacher education in higher education institutions in the USA and the UK, reveals both theoretical and methodological fundamentals of forming the content of primary/elementary education and clarifies the main characteristics and modern trends in the development of primary/elementary school. It holistically describes theoretical and methodological foundations of training future primary/elementary school teachers in the USA and the UK and determines the historical and social factors in the training of these specialists in the above-mentioned countries under the conditions of a market economy, as well as the structure, essence, content, forms and methods of teacher training. The thesis shows how one can ensure equal access to education and how both national and international research programmes are funded, determines the role of enhancing the quality of teacher education in the USA and the UK so that graduates can obtain the quality training, as well as the role of international university relations in the development of the country’s higher education and economy, specifies the rankings of the US and the UK higher education institutions in the world university rankings and other educational issues contributing to the country’s economic prosperity. It is proved that teacher placement is an important element in the practical training of primary/elementary school teachers in the USA and the UK. The thesis reveals the similar and different in the training for primary/elementary school teachers in the USA, the UK and Ukraine and justifies the potential for the use of some innovative ideas of the UK and US experience in training primary/elementary school teachers and their implementation in the modernization of higher education in Ukraine and development of system of future primary school teachers training.
