Zvarych O. Theoretical and methodological principles of economic development of the regions of Ukraine.

The thesis research is devoted to the establishment and grounding of theoretical and methodological foundations for ensuring the economic development of the regions of Ukraine, the development of a new concept of regional development. According to the concept, its condition is the ability to create new knowledge and competence for their circulation and absorption in the economy. Changing the concept of regional development towards the knowledge-based economy requires not only investment in basic infrastructure, but also the human capital development and the institutional environment. A methodological approach on determining the degree of innovation efficiency in a hierarchical regional section was proposed, which made it possible to define the territorial innovation multiplier. Its degree demonstrates the reference of the government regarding the efficiency of the use of innovations in the regional context, and therefore can serve as a guide for national policy on this important issue.
