Essay

In the dissertation, for the first time, individual reaction and means of the author-creator adaptation to the social-realism coordinate’s normative system are comprehensively analyzed and systematically explored. The thesis consists of Introduction, Five Chapters, divided into sections, Conclusions and References. In the first chapter, common markers of the social-realist paradigm have been identified and systematized, and ways of aesthetic norms’ political regulation have been analyzed. The mechanisms of «fitting» the literature into the discourse of social realism and the peculiarities of the formation of the «language of cooperation» have been found out. The structure of «double life», the writer’s dual artistic thinking and its influence on the development of creativity has been considered. The conclusions summarize the main points identified in the dissertation. It has been emphasized that the work of K. Gordienko, firstly, illustrates clearly the role of the artist in totalitarian conditions; secondly, it reflects the tragic result of balancing the ethical and aesthetic principles with the imposed Soviet «from above» style; thirdly, it reveals the adaptation practices of the author-creator, sheds light on the logic of both forced and voluntary conformism.
