The dissertation is devoted to the solution of the current scientific and technical problem of creating scientific bases for the application of bioindication and biotesting methods in of environmental management systems of economic entities. As a result of a set of theoretical and experimental studies, a scientific basis for the application of biotesting and bioindication as an additional tool for monitoring studies during the development, implementation and operation of EMS, which allowed to obtain information about environmental safety and natural components of the environment within the influence of their activities, was created in the dissertation. New scientific provisions, conclusions and recommendations were substantiated, and methods for establishing a complex criterion for ecological activity of the environmental management system and a choice of type of environmental management system based on efficiency allowing to define and increase the level of development for environmental management system of economic entities introducing organizational changes in their activity and control for the ecological activity of the functioning environmental management system.
