Diachok O. The forming of the architecture of sacred complexes under the influence of social and political processes (on the example of Ternopil region)

The dissertation is devoted to the process of formation and development of sacred architecture of Ternopil region under the influence of social and political processes. The study for the first time comprehensively analyzes the historical and social preconditions for the construction and development of religious buildings in the Ternopil region in the context of the development of European culture, investigates the stages of their formation; identifies church-religious and confessional transformations that led to changes in the architecture of sacred complexes; determines the role of sacred centers in the processes of spiritual and national revival of Ukraine; analyzes modern temple complexes and determines the role of modern Ternopil architects in the process of revival of temple construction in Ukraine; the socio-political processes that influenced the development of temple complexes are singled out. The conclusions and provisions of the dissertation open the way for further research in the theory of architecture and urban planning.
