Actualization of the interpretive paradigm in the last third of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st centuries is connected with the dominance in the musical communication system of the subject of creativity, designated as Homo Interpretatus (the person who interprets). On the examples of the composing and performing creativity in the stylistic plurality of the artistic space of the 20th-21st centuries. The study emphasizes the principle interpretability of any phenomenon of musical creativity, and the art of the 21st century is marked as an era of triumphant interpretive thinking. The dissertation for the first time offers the understanding of musical communication as an interpretative phenomenon and actualizes the interpretive-communicative approach at research of various artefacts of musical communication of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st century; it has formulated a cognitive organon that covers all the components of musical interpretation as a communicative experience; the expediency of introducing the concepts of «Homo Interpretatus» and «communicative strategy» into scientific circulation is substantiated here, their role in musicology is conceptualized and definitions are given; it has also developed the concept of Homo Interpretatus in the art of the 20th-21st centuries; the typology of communicative strategies is offered and tested on the basis of musical creativity of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st century; the structure of musical communication as a multilevel and open one is modelled. Homo Interpretatus marked by the central element of the system of description of a new communicative paradigm – interpretology, which is based on the synthesis of cognitivistics and musicology and is a scientific method that structures a new space of communication.
