Object of research: processes of vital activity of territorial communities in cross-border space. Purpose: substantiation of theoretical and methodological principles of socio-economic development of territorial communities in the cross-border space and development of scientific and practical recommendations for the organization of life of territorial communities in terms of intensification of cross-border cooperation. Methods: monographic, economic and statistical, logical generalization, analysis, comparison and synthesis, comparisons, sociological research, analysis and synthesis, strategic and structural-functional analysis, graphical visualization, scientific generalizations. Novelty: for the first time a methodological approach to the study of territorial communities in cross-border space was formulated, organizational and economic bases of territorial community development in cross-border space were substantiated on the basis of asset-oriented approach, conceptual approach to behavior of cross-border markets was proposed; methodological approach to the study of the impact of cross-border factors (opening and operation of checkpoints across the state border; introduction of mutual simplifications when crossing the border by residents of border areas; functioning of cross-border markets) on the development of border communities, classification of interaction between participants and participants. features, methodological approach to comprehensive monitoring of cross-border cooperation, conceptual and categorical apparatus of cross-border cooperation on the definition of "cross-border association" as a voluntary association of subjects and / or participants of cross-border cooperation of Ukraine and neighboring countries provided for in the cross-border cooperation agreement were improved.
