Tsyhanova N. Consolidation of banks in the context of structural changes in the financial market

The thesis is devoted to deepening the theoretical and methodological foundations of bank consolidation in the context of structural changes in the financial market, defining criteria for its evaluation and developing recommendations for optimizing structural changes in the financial market of Ukraine. Objective prerequisites and factors of bank consolidation, its borders and main stages are defined. On the basis of a study of the evolution of theoretical concepts of bank consolidation, its substantive characteristics at the micro- and macro-level have been determined. The classification of types of bank consolidation has been improved to complement criteria such as stakeholder groups, market intensity and impact, degree of government intervention and the nature of instruments. The directions, nature and mechanisms of the influence of bank consolidation on the quantitative and structural indicators of the financial market have been systematized. A description is given of the place and role of bank consolidation in economic processes and its relationship with general economic trends.
