Essay

The dissertation reveals an important scientific problem, which was the need to overcome the epistemological discrepancy between the existing theoretical approaches of the sociology of religion to understand and interpret the phenomenon of confessional practices, which are characterized, on the one hand, theoretical and methodological fragmentation and lack of system-generalized connectivity and interdependence, and on the other hand, the urgent need to determine the conceptual resource of the construct of confessional practices to explain the organizational-institutional and socio-cultural transformation of the latter as social forms of religious-confessional interaction. Socio-historical preconditions that determine the emergence, formation and reproduction of various religious and confessional practices are highlighted. It is determined that confessional practices are complex social formations, which distinguish a set of understandings adequate to the relevant socio-religious actions, a collection of established norms and rules that form a specific teleoffective structure.
