In the dissertation the theoretical generalization was carried out and the practical solving the scientific problem of forming the professional competence of intending History teachers in the course of professional training was suggested. In the course of scientific substantiation of theoretical and methodical bases the author's concept, methodological approaches, pedagogical system of purposeful forming of professional competence of future history teachers in the process of professional training are developed and substantiated. The essence and the structure of professional competence of future history teachers are specified. The structural model of the pedagogical system has been developed, as well as criteria, indicators and levels of future history teachers' professional competence forming. The pedagogical factors and conditions were revealed and substantiated, the scientific and methodical support of the process of purposeful forming of professional competence of future history teachers in the process of professional training was developed. The experimental data testifying to efficiency of the introduced pedagogical system of future history teachers' professional competence forming in the process of professional training were generalized.
