3. Children with multiple sclerosis and encephalomyelitis. Perfection of the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and encephalomyelitis in children, working out and testing of of the therapeutic schemes on the basis of modern views on the pathogenesis of demyelinating process. The methods of investigation are clinical, neurovisualized (computer toomography and magnetic resonans imaging), neurophysiologic, immunologic and immunogenetic. For the first time the problems of the diagnosis and the treatment of multiple sclerosis and encephalomyelitis in children was studied with hte help of the modern methods in complex. The typical changes of immunologic indexes were revealed in children with these diseases. For the first time the role of HLAB12-antigene was proved in the development of the demyelinating process in children, the association between HLA-antigenes and peculiarities of the course was revealed. The algorhythm of the diagnosis in the suspicion on multiple sclerosis was worced out. The therapeutig sch emes were worked out and their efficacy were estimated. Materials of the investigation were introduces in the practical work in the neurologic departments of children hospitals and are used in the educational process.
