Тhe evolution of ethnolinguistic conscience of the diaspora Ukrainians and multiple aspects of the language and identity problem are discussed. The dissertation offers analysis of various types of linguistic behaviour and the qualitative and quantitative assessment of the diffuse phenomena in the bilingual milieu as well as sociolinguistic forecast of the development of the language situation in the Ukrainian diaspora and of its forthcoming relations with the ethnic mainland.
