With purpose to prognosis of chickenpox and herpes zoster in adult patients there were examined 100 adult patients with Varicella-Zoster virus infection, including 50 patients with chickenpox and 50 patients with herpes zoster, who were hospitalized at UC “OICL” ZOR, all patients were conducted traditional laboratory studies, necessary instrumental studies were carried out according to indications. Special studies included determination of the single-nucleotide polymorphism of IL-10 genes (rs 1800872, rs 1800896) and TLR 2 (rs 5743708) by polymerase chain reaction, quantitative content of IL-10 in serum by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Considering the purpose of our study and assigned tasks, a comprehensive study of adult patients with chickenpox and herpes zoster was performed. Among the studied patients with chickenpox women were 16 (32,0%), men - 34 (68,0%), aged from 18 to 49 years, median was 20,0 [20,0; 21,0] years. There were 40 (80,0%) patients with moderate course and 10 (20,0%) patients with severe course of the disease. Patients with chickenpox with severe course compared with moderate course were characterized by a higher age category (р˂0,05), later hospitalization (р˂0,05), more severity intoxication syndrome (р˂0,05), longer period of appearance new rash elements (р˂0,05), more frequent pustulization (р˂0,05). The complicated course of chickenpox was observed in 33 (66,0%) patients. Complications of chickenpox were presented by hepatitis (13), pneumonia (4), episcleritis (2), conjunctivitis (2), blepharoconjunctivitis (1), keratoconjunctivitis (1), encephalitis (1), toxic encephalopathy with syndrome cerebrospinal fluid disorders (1), addition of secondary bacterial infection (8). In patients with severe course of chickenpox complications were reported 1.74 times more frequent (р˂0,05), compared with moderate course. Among hospitalized patients with herpes zoster there were 31 (62,0%) women and 19 (38,0%) men, between 27 and 85 years of age, with a median of 66,5 [55,0; 77,0] years. There were 35 (70,0%) patients with moderate course, and 15 (30,0%) with severe course of the disease. 4 (8,0%) patients in anamnesis herpes zoster had a recurrent course. In patients with severe course it was found more later hospitalization (р˂0,05), prodromal period before manifestation of herpes zoster was registered 1,88 times more often (р˂0,05), 1,59 times more frequent development of pustulization (p˂0,05), 3,18 times more frequent registration of pain syndrome with localization in projection affected nerves (р˂0,05), compared with patients with moderate course. Clinical forms of herpes zoster in adult patients were presented: localized - in 42 (84,0%) patients, including lesions of the trigeminal nerve (33) and parvertebral ganglia (9); disseminated - in 5 (10,0%) patients and generalized - in 3 (6,0%) patients.
