The dissertation is a complex study of the current psychological and pedagogical issue of the formation of moral and value orientations in junior schoolchildren in the process of extracurricular educational work, the results of which make up current theoretical as well as applied basis for the implementation of the New Ukrainian School paradigm. The educational process of this paradigm is considered as an integral component of the entire educational process, based on universal values, including both moral-ethic and moral-value orientations. Based on the analysis of the formation and development of Ukrainian and foreign philosophical, humanitarian, cultural and psychological-pedagogical views on the essence of moral education of a developing personality, formation of her moral-value orientations and their significance in the intellectual, spiritual and social development in junior schoolchildren, the characteristic of these processes is given in two interconnected theoretical planes. Structural components of the study, its theoretical concepts were determined and characterized. The analysis of the implementation of the results of the study into the educational practice of elementary education institutions made it possible to identify and characterize important points. Significant positive dynamics were observed in the indicators concerning a systematic, well-planned and well-organized year-long extracurricular educational work. The effectiveness of the organization of cooperation between children, parents and the community in solving important moral-oriented problems and life situations in the context of extracurricular educational work also increased.
