The dissertation is devoted to the development of a criminological model of the personality of a student of higher education institution, who commits a violent acquisitive crime against property, as well as the development of opportunities for its practical use in order to solve urgent problems of preventing this type of crime. As a result of the work, scientific results have been obtained that are relevant for the further development of criminological theory, as well as for the modernization of the modern system of preventing the students of higher education institutions from committing violent acquisitive crimes against property. The paper analyzes the correlation between the concepts of "methodology", "method" and "technique" in relation to solving the research problems of this dissertation. The criminological content of the basic principles of system analysis is analyzed. The advantages of using simulation for the purpose of criminological knowledge of the phenomenon of the personality of a student of higher education institution committing a violent acquisitive crime against property are proved. The necessity to strengthen the role and importance of the legal education component in the organization of educational activities of higher education institution is substantiated. To this end, a number of amendments to the current legislation have been proposed. According to the results of criminological modeling, the main goals, objectives and conditions of the effectiveness of educational and preventive influence on students of higher education institution in the direction of preventing them from committing selfish and violent crimes against property are specified. The most effective pedagogical methods and techniques of special criminological prevention have been identified.
