Essay

The dissertation considers the problems of plasticity of unit balls of Banach spaces, and a more general question: for which different Banach spaces the nonexpansive bijection between unit balls of these spaces is an isometry. The criterion of linear plasticity of ellipsoids in a separable Hilbert space is also obtained, and some properties of generalized-lush spaces are studied.
