Essay

The development of Christian morality of preschool children (the end of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st centuries) in Ukraine is the research object. The research aim – on the basis of a comprehensive and systematic retrospective analysis, to reveal the peculiarities of the development of the Christian morality of preschool children by means of pastoral activity in Ukraine at the end of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st century and to develop methodological recommendations on the use of historical and pedagogical experience under modern conditions. The research methods: bibliographic, analysis, systematization, terminological, historical-genetic, comparative-historical, chronological, interpretation, generalization, periodization, diachronic, forecasting, methods of theological analysis. For the first time on the basis of a comprehensive and systematic retrospective analysis, the genesis and peculiarities of the development of the Christian morality of preschoolers during the end of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st centuries as a pedagogical phenomenon were revealed; the problem of development of Christian morality of preschool children in the context of pastoral pedagogy is described and its possibilities in the moral development of preschool children are outlined; the transformation of pastoral activity in the context of Christian morality is analyzed; the development of pedagogical concepts and means of formation of Christian morality in preschool pedagogy and practice at the end of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st centuries is highlighted; the periodization of the development of the Christian morality of preschool children by means of pastoral activity in the national educational space during the studied period taking into account the peculiarities of educational and religious development of the society at the specified time is considered; trends in the theory and practice of the formation of Christian morality of preschoolers by means of pastoral activity are revealed; the possibilities of using the experience of pastoral activity in the process of Christian moral development of the preschoolers as an integration of secular and religious components to ensure the integrity of the preschooler’s moral development are outlined. The terminological apparatus of the problem and methods of pastoral activity based on the use of historical experience is improved. The content, methods and forms of development of the Christian morality of preschoolers by means of pastoral activity have been specified. New data, facts, theoretical ideas have been introduced into the scientific circulation, scientific interpretation of the development of the Christian morality of preschoolers by means of pastoral activity has been carried out, which can become a source for the development of new directions of pedagogical research as an integration of secular and religious components. The basic concepts and definitions of the subject of research and the identification of progressive ideas on the development of Christian morality of preschool children by means of pastoral activity in Ukraine have gained further development.
