The object of study - the evaluation of surface properties of textile materials. The purpose of the study is to develop methods for assessing the surface properties of textile materials to objectively determine the nature of the pile and predict the surface quality of the finished textile product. Research methods - theoretical and experimental. Theoretical methods: systematic analysis of scientific publications, terminology of international standards and synthesis of analytical data using the methods of formal logic, mathematical modeling, generalization and hypothetical approach. Experimental methods: organoleptic method of drafting the sensory profile of fabrics, optical and weight method for determining the hairiness of yarn and textile fabrics using software Poil, Toup View, spectrophotometric analysis of colour characteristics in the colour space system CIEL*a*b* with licensed software package Premier Colorscan Quality Control Software.
