In the introduction, the author identified the topic relevance, purpose and objectives of the study, identified research methods, object and subject of research, scientific novelty of the work, theoretical and practical significance of the work, provided data on the approbation of the dissertation results, a list of the applicant's publications.
In the first section "Art clusters. The state and problems of their research" the relevance of measures to revitalize industrial areas with a change of function determined, taking into account the problem of non-operating industrial enterprises that occupy large areas of urban areas.
In the second section "Theoretical foundations of the art clusters study as part of art formations" the classification of arts in accordance with the objectives of the study theoretically substantiated, structural and logical models of art formations (art object, art cluster, art centre, art formations) developed and the types of functional connections between art objects and their formations identified.
In the third section "Principles of architectural and planning organization of art formations on the basis of clustering as a means of revitalization" the relevant principles and techniques that have identified specific proposals formulated. As a result of the analysis it was argued that the concept of art cluster does not fully satisfy the problem of identification of objects of this direction, this term was localized in the field of art product production, so the principles of architectural planning were expanded, except for art clusters, on art formation as a whole with an art cluster in its composition.
The fourth section "Proposals for the organization of art formation on the basis of clustering as a means of revitalization of industrial enterprises" analyzed ways to revitalize industrial facilities in various industries for art functions. It is determined that most often, due to their constructive schemes and planning, objects of light and food industry are subject to revitalization. On the basis of the developed theoretical models and calculation of the areas necessary for creation of an art formation with a production area – an art cluster on the basis of the industrial enterprise experimental offers on three monuments of industrial architecture – factory of light industry in Lodz, former shipyard in Zurich and Richert’s brewery in Kyiv, which approximately in one time period and in similar architectural style were developed.
