This study deals with the formation of student youth’s social activity in leisure activities. The scientific novelty of the research is as follows:
– it is the first time the study has justified and developed the system of socio-pedagogical leisure activities for formation of student youth’s social activity in the information society, that represents a structured interdependent integrity of components (purposeful, subjective-objective, informative, activity-oriented, effective) to ensure the creation of social activity of students in leisure activities at such levels as individual, group, extracurricular-leisure, open leisure environment;
– the content of the concepts «student youth’s social activity» and their structural components, «formation of student youth’s social activity», «leisure activities» is specified;
– methods and means of leisure activities aimed at shaping student youth’s social activity in the information society have been further developed.
The thesis outlines the state of exploration of the research problem; it defines the leading concept of «student youth’s social activity» as a social quality, which is an integral part of the sociability of young people and is characterized by acquiring civic and professional values; the development of specific qualities on their basis (initiative, social mobility, social creativity), which are manifested in pro-social behavior and at the same time are a condition and result of educational, extracurricular and social activities during training at a higher educational establishment and beyond all spheres of society.
On the basis of the psycho-age characteristics of student youth and the specific features of forming their social activity as a leading social quality, the criteria (motivational-value, reflexive-volitional, activity-oriented) are determined and indicators (initiative, social mobility, social creativity) of student youth’s social activity are justified. The features of the formation of student youth’s social activity in the conditions of the information society are analyzed, the essence of the concept «formation of student youth’s social activity» is defined, which is interpreted as a regulated social and pedagogical process of ensuring the assimilation of civic and educational-professional values by students and the acquisition and identification of social behavior based on initiative, social mobility and social creativity both in a higher educational institution and in an open social environment of the information society. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign experience of the formation of student youth’s social activity in leisure activities, the concept of «social and pedagogical leisure activities of students» has been formed, by which we mean the regulation of the process of obtaining sociability by applicants for higher education in the field of leisure, taking into account its resources and capabilities in the information society.
The system of socio-pedagogical leisure activities for the formation of student youth’s social activity in the information society has been substantiated. The program and methodological support have been developed for the implementation of the system in the educational process of the higher educational institutions selected for the experimental part of the study, which involves preparing and conducting meetings and workshops, trainings («I and society»), online quests («I am a cyber-student»), excursions (multi-active excursion to the Kharkiv State Scientific Library named after V. G. Korolenko), photo exhibitions («The way to the dream»), student project contests («We can be better»), social promotion campaigns («We win together», «Cup of coffee»), student forums in mobile applications («KSAС.Info» and «Art.News»), the volunteer movement («Plogging.Kh»), virtual leisure environment («Not a boring quarantine») etc.
The resulting quality of the implementation of the system of socio-pedagogical leisure activities for the formation of student youth’s social activity in the information society is evidenced, which is confirmed by the positive dynamics of indicators; and the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the obtained results allows us to assert the effectiveness of the developed system. The research results may be used and introduced into the educational process, the organization of leisure activities of students in the educational environment of higher educational establishments of Ukraine and outside it, the work of student public organizations and an open social and cultural space.
