Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment and prevention of chronic catarrhal gingivitis in young people with different reactivity of the organism using agents that contain active peptide complexes, by clinical and experimental research. The research on the relationship between changes in the reactivity of the body with the course of the inflammatory reaction in the gums in chronic catarrhal gingivitis has been studied and deepened. For the first time, experimental models of gingivitis in outbred white male rats with altered body reactivity with hypoergic and hyperergic course of inflammatory reaction in the gums were created, developed, and proposed. Changes in immunological and biochemical parameters in the tissues of experimental animals in the modeling of gingivitis have been studied. For the first time, an experimental model of gingivitis with an altered course of the inflammatory reaction showed a violation of prooxidant-antioxidant status, which was expressed in an increase of lipid peroxidation and increased activity of the antioxidant system, mostly in the pathological process – in periodontal tissues. The level of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in animals with different reactivity of the organism was evaluated. The corrective effect of the gel with peptide complexes has been proved, which is especially pronounced in the unchanged course of the inflammatory reaction of the organism and in its hypoergic course. The study of morphological changes in periodontal tissues – the development of nonspecific inflammatory process with a predominance of dystrophic and regenerative processes in hypoergic, and hyperplastic processes – in the hyperergic course of the inflammatory reaction in the gums. Scientific data on the prevalence of periodontal diseases have been updated, in particular, 75,1 % of young people have been diagnosed with chronic catarrhal gingivitis. According to the results of anamnestic, clinical, paraclinical, and laboratory studies, the course of the inflammatory reaction in the gums was assessed. Was scientifically proven effectiveness of treatment using anti-inflammatory gel, toothpaste with active peptide complexes: improvement of clinical and paraclinical parameters, oral hygiene, reduction of inflammatory phenomena, the level of proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β – more significant in hypo- and hyperergic course of the inflammatory reaction), an increase in the content of IL-4 both after treatment and after six months.
