Opanasenko V. Pedagogical ideas and public work of P. K. Zahaiko (1928–2013 yrs).

The paper is devoted to the presentation of pedagogical ideas and public work of P. K. Zahaiko (1928–2013 yrs) – a talented scholar, educator with own understanding of the ways of national education system reforming, excellent worker of public education who promoted the establishment of Ukrainian national idea and based his educational work on the education of conscious Ukrainian citizens and patriots. The research status of the problem is determined; the research sources base is organized; the basic factors of P. K. Zahaiko’s scientific and pedagogical outlook are covered; the main stages of scholar’s life and lines of his educational work are distinguished; the main P. K. Zahaiko’s pedagogical ideas are defied and systemized; the content of educator’s public work is established; the main ways and the perspectives of implementation of the ideas and experience of P. K. Zahaiko’s educational and public work in practice of national educational institutions are defined.
