Essay

The thesis is devoted to the theoretical and experimental substantiation of the expediency of developing a new gel containing dry aloe extract and thick oak bark extract for the treatment of destructive-inflammatory diseases of the periodontium and oral mucosa. Experimental studies were carried out to find effective doses, the pharmacodynamics of the new gel, specific periodontoprotective activity on two model pathologies. The anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, immunomodulatory activity of the new gel has been proven. It was established that there is no toxic effect of the new gel, both under conditions of acute toxicity and long-term use. The study allows us to consider the new gel as a promising drug for the treatment of destructive-inflammatory diseases of various etiologies and to recommend it for in-depth preclinical and clinical studies in order to create a new drug and introduce it into clinical practice.
