Essay

Object: processes of gas evolution in mine workings and degassing wells at working off of gas-bearing coal seams. Objective: based on the establishment of patterns of methane emissions from the forged coal seam depending on mining-geological and mining factors for the development of criteria and methods for assessing the real danger of coal mines by the gas factor, development of a method for forecasting gas emissions and improving the regulatory framework for the safe development of gas-bearing coal seams to reduce accidents and injuries in coal mines; Methods: applied a comprehensive method that includes analysis and generalization of available information on the problem and theoretical research, the solution of which is based on knowledge in related fields of mining science (coal theory, coal metamorphism, geotechnical mechanics, aerology of mining enterprises), experimental observations of methane emissions in mine workings and degassing systems during the entire period of operation of excavation sites, statistical processing of experimental data and generalization of the obtained results; Originality: for the first time the quantitative dependence of gas evolution from the produced space of stopped lavas on the degree of forgery of the earth's surface was established; for the first time, a directly proportional relationship has been established between the ratio of gas evolution from the produced space of stopped lavas to methane emissions within the operated area from the degree of forgery of the earth's surface by stopped lavas; for the first time the peculiarities of specific gas emission are established, which belong to the unit area of the produced space and are determined by the degree of development of treatment works and the speed of advancement of treatment faces. Results of the research: the quantitative dependence of gas release from the produced space of stopped lavas on the degree of forgery of the earth's surface is established. The conditions for the beginning and continuation of gas evolution are complete forgery of the earth's surface by spent lavas, which is achieved when the ratio of the size of the produced space to the depth of work is more than 1.4; there is a directly proportional relationship between the ratio of gas emissions from the produced space of stopped lava to methane emissions within the operated area from the degree of forgery of the earth's surface; the peculiarities of specific gas evolution, which belong to the unit area of the produced space in the zone of active rock displacement and are determined by the degree of development of treatment works and the speed of movement of treatment faces, are established. Industry: civil security.
