Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the study of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and hepatoprotective properties of the thick extract from garden spinach leaves on the model of tetrachloromethane liver lesion in rats, as well as antioxidant and anabolic properties of the dry extract from garden spinach leaves in conditions of food deprivation. The non-toxicity of thick and dry extracts from garden spinach leaves was proved and it was established that both pharmacological drugs belong to the V class of toxicity - practically harmless substances. Proposed the minimum effective dose of thick and dry extracts – 150 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg body weight of animals, respectively, which were determined on the model of tetrachloromethane liver lesion and food deprivation of rats. The absence of ulcerogenic action in the proposed minimum effective doses of the thick and dry extracts from garden spinach leaves was established. On the model of carrageenan edema of rat paw, the anti-inflammatory activity of garden spinach extracts was established, which is more pronounced in the thick extract. For the first time, the thick extract from garden spinach leaves was proposed for the correction of the toxic liver damage. The effectiveness of the thick extract from garden spinach leaves as a hepatoprotective agent, the effect of which is manifested through antioxidant and membrane stabilizing properties, was proved in an experiment on animals with simulated acute carbon tetrachloride hepatitis. The positive effect of the thick extract from garden spinach leaves on the bile forming and bile secretion functions of the liver in animals, affected by carbon tetrachloride, was established. The anabolic properties of the dry extract from garden spinach leaves under conditions of food deprivation of rats were studied. The protective activity of the dry extract was established, as evidenced by the significant effect on the morphometric parameters of rats on the background of food deprivation. Confirmed positive effect of the dry extract from garden spinach leaves on the functional capacity of the kidneys, as indicated by increased daily diuresis, urea levels and increased creatinine levels in animals with food deprivation, as well as the restoration of protein resources in the body. A positive effect of the dry extract from garden spinach leaves on oxidative processes in the body of rats during starvation was established. Sorbent properties of the dry extract of garden spinach leaves were revealed, which are accompanied by a decrease in the manifestations of endogenous intoxication in rats under conditions of complete starvation. According to the results of research, a patent of Ukraine for a utility model was obtained (№ 136789 dated August 27, 2019).
