Essay

The author substantiates the content of the category "legal mechanisms of interaction of civil society institutions and the state" which suggests a system of various legal, organizational and other legal mechanisms that purposefully provide established doctrinal (ideological), substantive, functional and system-structural connections. links between civil society, represented by its institutions, and the state, represented by its bodies, in order to protect the legitimate interests, rights and freedoms of citizens and the legitimation of state-building and law-making processes. It is established that the interaction of civil society institutions with the state has a dualistic legal nature and can be considered as a socio-legal phenomenon of the development of "Western" civilization and an independent and specific type of legal relations. The paper substantiates the prospects of institutionalization of social movements (volunteer, reformist, anti-corruption, environmental, etc.), which are essentially an independent type of civil society institutions and promote mass voluntary association of citizens to implement their common civic position and protect their civil, political, socio-economic and cultural rights. It is proposed to amend the Constitution of Ukraine to legitimize social movements as institutions of civil society.
