Govorun E. Terms of pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings

The choice of the research topic is due to the ambiguity of law enforcement practice concerning the regulation and calculation of the terms of pre-trial investigation in the context of reforming the criminal procedure legislation in Ukraine. In order to determine the lines of research that are currently most relevant for scientific understanding, a comprehensive review of scientific sources was conducted in the work, the authors of which in one way or another studied the terms of pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings. This made it possible to state that the problematics of regulating the terms of pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is at the level of a number of legally undefined issues, on which there is also no consensus among scientific workers. Moreover, based on the analysis of international legislation governing the procedure for calculating the terms of pre-trial investigation, it was stated that the domestic criminal procedure legislation in the context of research topic needs radical modernization, which determines the relevancy of the chosen topic.
