Ivantsova Z. Local government (communal self-government) in the lands of Federal Republic of Germany: a comparative law research

The dissertation is the first comprehensive comparative study of the institute of local government in modern Ukrainian and German society. The introduction substantiates the choice and relevance of the topic, defines the object and subject, tasks, methodological and theoretical foundations of the study, research methods, discloses the scientific novelty of the results obtained and the personal contribution of the applicant, provides data on approbation of the research results at conferences and in publications. At the present stage of local government reformation in Ukraine, it is necessary to study the best practices of organizing local government, primarily the Federal Republic of Germany – as a state with a highly-developed level of organization of local government.
