Pietushkova L. Preparation of candidates for foster carers to rehabilitation activities

The dissertation presents a scientific substantiation of the problem on preparation of candidates for foster carers to rehabilitation activities, which is manifested in the substantiation of the model, content and methodological support of this process. The research summarizes the national and international experience of temporary upbringing of children, the essence of the concepts «foster care service over a child», «rehabilitation activity of a foster carer», «readiness of a foster carer for rehabilitation activities» is specified, the interpretation of the concept of «rehabilitation activities of foster carers» in a broad and narrow sense. The peculiarities of the rehabilitation activity of foster carers, their tasks in relation to children of different groups are revealed, in particular, the specifics of preparation for the tasks of care, education and rehabilitation. A model of preparation of candidates for foster carers for rehabilitation activities has been developed and experimentally tested, taking into account current trends in adult education, the organizational and methodological conditions for implementing the model have been substantiated.
