Essay

In the dissertation of Tolmachova KS an experimental study of the first obtained galenic and novogalenic extracts from the shoots of Ledum palustre for the treatment of acute bronchitis. The extracts were obtained at the Department of Pharmacognosy of the National University of Pharmacy under the guidance of prof. Koshovogo OM In the dissertation work the results of research of 6 extracts are stated: the screening research of antitussive activity and antimicrobic activity is carried out. According to the results, promising extracts (extract №2 and №5) for further study - anti-inflammatory activity in a model of zymosan and carrageenan edema in rats. Based on the obtained data, the leader-extract was selected - №5 extract from Ledum palustre shoots, which is a galenic extract, which includes: polyphenolic compounds - 13.47%, flavonoids - 12.34%, monosaccharides - 4.79%, carboxylic acids - 2.96%, hydroxycinnamic acids - 1.78%, terpene compounds - 1.33% and amino acids - 0.31%. In the course of studies studying the antitussive and anti-inflammatory properties of the extract № 5, a conditional therapeutic dose of 50 mg / kg was established. An in-depth study of the pharmacological properties of the drug and proved that the extract № 5 has antitussive, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, bronchodilator effect and can be recommended as a tool for the pathogenetic treatment of acute bronchitis due to its powerful anti-inflammatory activity. In addition, it was determined that the studied drug is a low-toxic substance and does not show a depressant effect on the central nervous system, which is confirmed by the results of the test "open field" and "elevated cruciform labyrinth". A number of experimental studies prove the feasibility and prospects for further study of galenic extract № 5 from the shoots of Ledum palustres in order to create on its basis a drug or food supplement for the treatment of acute bronchitis
