The presented dissertation research reveals the peculiarities of the territorial structure of the general educational space of Chernivtsi region. The research is carried out in relation to anthropogenic objects and processes in geospheres, namely the social sphere in the spatial dimension of the sociogeosphere, as a sphere of social life, where the social needs and interests of social groups and communities are realized. Currently, significant transformations are taking place in the general education space as a component of the social space, which are taking place in parallel with the implementation of decentralization reform. These changes are most appropriate to analyze at the level of the lowest units of administrative-territorial organization - territorial communities, which requires geographical research. Chernivtsi region is characterized by disparities in terms of natural, social, economic and cultural environment, which is why in this region these changes are particularly noticeable, which determines the relevance of the research topic. Socio-geographical approaches to the study of general education space are considered and its main components are highlighted. We propose to define the general education space as the territory in which general secondary education institutions of various types and forms, as well as participants in the educational process that ensure the implementation of educational activities, operate, organize the general educational process and interact with each other. This section presents the theoretical and methodological foundations and developed an algorithm for studying the territorial structure of the educational space of the regional region, which consists of 5 stages: preparatory (idea formation, acquaintance with the conceptual and categorical apparatus); information (processing of statistical material and obtaining an array of representative information about the general educational space of the regional region); analytical (information analysis, identification of patterns of development of general education space at the regional level); practical (identification of problems and development of recommendations for the development of the general education space of the region); introductory (submission of results for their further use in improving the general educational space of Chernivtsi region). The mathematical model of definition of a level of knowledge of graduates on the basis of the typed test points of External Independent Evaluation on all subjects is offered. The factors identifies of development of the general education space of Chernivtsi region, as well as a correlation analysis of the interaction of factors and the level of knowledge of graduates of general secondary education. During the correlation analysis, all factors were divided into 4 groups: natural and geographical; socio-economic, demographic and internal education. It is determined that the greatest influence on the formation of students' knowledge has economic and internal educational factors. The place of Chernivtsi region in the formation of the general educational space of Ukraine is also determined. A socio-geographical analysis of the components of the general educational space, which includes participants in the general educational process, the quality of educational services, the location of general secondary education and the level of knowledge of graduates. Having processed a significant amount of statistical information on each settlement and general secondary education institution, the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the functioning of the general education space of Chernivtsi region in terms of units of the new administrative-territorial structure were analyzed. Chernivtsi region. Based on the processed statistical data, a number of cartographic models have been developed that reflect the differentiation of the main indicators of the general education space. With the help of SWOT and PEST-analyzes, the problems of development of the general education space of Chernivtsi region are revealed and the ways of optimization of the general educational space, as well as the directions of its further development are suggested. The general education districts have been singled out, a long-term plan for the reorganization of the general secondary education network of Chernivtsi region has been created by creating support institutions and their branches. The administrative units of Chernivtsi region were typified according to the components of the general education space, which made it possible to trace the territorial differences in the formation of the level of development of the educational space. In general, the best general education space is developed in the city of Chernivtsi, as well as in the communities that were created around the district centers.
