Essay

The work is devoted to the study of the specifics of vocal performance in two aspects of art history: theoretical and historical. The main factors influencing the vocal-performing style are determined: dependence on the form and content of the vocal work being interpreted; dependence on the aesthetic requirements and tastes prevailing in this historical period. The main aspects in the context of which the concept of vocal-performing style is studied are considered: style as a historical category that changes its meaning according to a certain historical epoch; style in connection with certain artistic directions; style as an individual phenomenon. The specific features of modern vocal-performing creativity are characterized: deepening of the substantive aspect of interpretations, intellectualization of the whole process of creative activity of performers; strengthening attention to the vocal art of past epochs, to the established traditions and their interpretation, which corresponds to the general orientation of artistic and aesthetic culture of our society, focused on the active aesthetic development of classical values of the past. It is determined that an important prerequisite for the development of dominant trends in modern performing practice is the development of technical means: the transformation of these trends into leading in modern vocal and performing arts occurs in parallel with the improvement of technical media. In this regard, a characteristic feature of modern vocal performance is the emergence of a new cohort of vocalists who combine classical vocals with show business. The third section considers the features of the interaction of vocal and performing arts and socio-cultural factors. The changes that occur in the listener's perception under the influence of technical and communicative means and a qualitatively new type of interpretation that has arisen in this regard are analyzed. The specific features of pop performance are characterized: entertainment, accessibility, simplicity, focus on the average viewer, whose interests and knowledge are far from classical music education. It is proved that the harmonious fusion of composition and performance, which allows to express the artistic idea embedded in the vocal work, to express the experiences that are creatively embodied by the singer-vocalist, is a necessary condition for the aesthetic impact of vocal music on the listener's consciousness. Composer – performer – listener.
