Essay

The doctoral thesis is a comparative pedagogical study of the system of professional training of primary school teachers in the Benelux countries. The object of the study is the training of primary school teachers in the Benelux countries. The subject of the study is common and different tendencies of the systems of pre-service teacher training at higher education institutions in the Benelux countries. The aim of the study is to identify and justify tendencies of pre-service primary school teacher training in the Benelux countries, as well as outline ways to implement its experience into the national educational practice. The article substantiates the socio-economic prerequisites (historical, political, social, and economic) for reforming the system of pre-service primary school teacher training in the Benelux countries. The basic concepts of the study are identified as follows: “pre-service primary school teacher training in the Benelux countries”, “primary school teacher competence in Benelux countries” and “tendencies of pre-service primary school teacher training”.
