Essay

The geoinformation model proposed in the paper is aimed at solving such environmental monitoring tasks as comprehensive assessment and forecasting of river water quality, identification of trends in the dynamics of hydrochemical and algological indicators, assessment of the impact of pollution sources on river water. The developed geoinformation model is programmatically implemented in the form of a geoinformation system of ecological monitoring of the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta. The geoinformation model includes the following additional data analysis functions: - detection of trends over time and short-term forecasting values of river water indicators; - comprehensive assessment of river water quality; - assessment of the impact of point sources of pollution on the quality of river waters in local and large-scale aspects. The implementation of the proposed geoinformation model was carried out based on the ArcGIS platform (version 10.7), in the form of GIS water quality monitoring of the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta. Analysis of the results of changes in the Shannon index of phytoplankton in number and biomass coincides with an increase in the concentration of manganese in surface waters. The influence of manganese concentration on phytoplankton diversity for the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta was discovered for the first time. It seems expedient to use the proposed geoinformation model of the surface water massif during the development of regional GIS for surface water quality monitoring, as well as to improve the analytical capabilities of the international specialized GIS for environmental monitoring of the Danube basin - DanubeGIS.
