Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of Roman and Irish traditions in the European education system of the Middle Ages. The relevance of the topic is substantiated in the dissertation, goals and objectives are formulated, the object, subject and research methods are described, the chronological framework of the scientific heritage is described, the relationship of work with scientific plans and programs is highlighted, the spring base is presented, the scientific novelty and practical significance of the results are revealed, the forms are reflected approbation and implementation of research results into practice. The scientific problem of the development of Roman-Irish traditions in the European education system of the Middle Ages is reasonably solved, the importance of these traditions for the formation of Central and Western Ukraine at the turn of the XIX – beginning of the XX centuries is proved. They proved that it was the Roman-Irish tradition that laid the foundation of the university system by the example of logic and dialectics, which at that time were almost synonymous, a form of organization of the educational process, such as conversation, arose in the 12th century into a debate. A direct connection was established between the educational systems of Alcuin of York and Pierre Abelard, and the ways of becoming a European university on the basis of episcopal schools and corporations of students and teachers were analyzed, it was concluded that the main forms of organization of the educational process at the initial stage of university functioning were lectures and disputes, methods – observation, scholastic and critical textology method.
