Essay

The dissertation was investigated by ourself the educational and scientific-methodical activity of the Ukrainian educator Ivan Petrovich Lvov. First of all, it was divided into four stages of I. P. Lvov's life. The first stage is the formation and development of the personality of I. P. Lvov: childhood, family education, primary education - primary school in Yurievka, and then theological school in Makarov, Kostroma province. The second stage is the educational formation of I. P. Lvov: studying at the Kostroma Theological Seminary and obtaining higher theological education at the Kazan Theological Academy. The third stage is active pedagogical activity: the formation of the teacher's personality, the introduction of their own pedagogical ideas, the development of the Department of Pedagogy under the leadership of I. P. Lvov, the development of methodological views on the education system under Soviet system. According to the stages, his vital activity was divided into periods. The first period of formation of the worldview of I. P. Lvov. At this stage, the young educator was formed in a certain social environment against the background of economic instability and a state of civil revolution from unjust oppression by the authorities against the intelligentsia, clergy, proletariat. The second period was characterized by the search for effective teaching methods in the conditions of the formation of Soviet power, the formation of an active life position and educational activities. The third period of professional development of I. P. Lvov's personality was characterized by stability, active professional (educational, methodical, educational, public and administrative activity) development of scientific work against the background of socialist power and totalitarian regime. The didactic work of the scientist was presented by a number of unpublished works for students of general secondary education, to improve learning, methodological materials on the logic of psychology, psychological and pedagogical characteristics of students complement the educational material. I. P. Lvov's scientific activity was represented by writing reviews of transcripts of lectures to colleagues. His management activity as the head of the Chair of Pedagogy and Psychology is analyzed, 115 units of archival materials of the Personal Fund of I. P. Lvov are reserved in the State Archives of Chernihiv region. I. P. Lvov was a public figure in Chernihiv, he gave lectures to parents on education, lectures for various segments of the population. I. P. Lvov has established himself as an experienced manager. Of particular note are the abstracts from the lectures «Forms and methods of organizing and conducting final exams», where the scientist raised the issue of good quality testing, theses in typewritten form «On independent work of students on the book», where the teacher gives qualified advice on effective work with books. It was established that through scientific and methodological activities I. P. Lvov spread his pedagogical knowledge among Ukrainian teachers and among the teaching staff of the institute. I. P. Lvov's pedagogical ideas and his practical activity had a great influence on the development of Ukrainian education, culture and education of patriotism in youth. The main works of the teacher are «Independent work of students with a book» and «Independent preparation of students for exams». Scientific and methodological activity as the head of the Chair of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Chernihiv Pedagogical Institute was also productive. I. P. Lvov facilitated active educational and political work outside the Institute, as evidenced by the program of the logic course, which was read in the Chernihiv regional committee of the party for part-time students of the Higher Pilot School at the CPSU Central Committee; work plan of the Chair of Pedagogy of the Chernihiv Teacher's Institute for the second semester of 1950−1951; working plan of logic classes with 2nd year students of the Faculty of Philology; information note of the head of the Chair of Pedagogy on the preparation of the department for the new academic year; report at the republican conference in Kyiv on «Independent work of students in psychology», report on «The growth of social culture and education in the USSR in the sixth five-year plan» and other works. Thus, the research materials can be filled with historical and pedagogical knowledge of the content of lecture courses: «History of Pedagogy», «Pedagogy», «Higher School Pedagogy and Pedagogical Skills of Teachers», «Psychology», «Logic», «Personnel Management of Higher Education». Dissertation materials can be used to improve the content of works on the history of pedagogy and didactics, textbooks and manuals; for the preparation of normative and elective special courses and special seminars on pedagogy and history of pedagogy for higher education institutions.
