Essay

The thesis is devoted to the phytochemical study of bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) leaves and dry extracts from this raw material to create new standardized medicines with diuretic, anti-inflammatory, hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects. The phytochemical screening of the main groups of biologicaly active substances (BAS) in bearberry leaves showed the presence of hydroquinone derivatives, phenol carboxylic and hydroxycinnamic acids, coumarins, flavanoids, tannins and triterpene saponins. At the same time, such substances as arbutin, gallic, ellagic, protocatechoic, chlorogenic and p-coumaric acids, quercetin, rutin, hyperoside, galo- and ellagotanins were identified by TLC. The quantitative content of the main groups of phenolic compounds in the raw material was determined.
