Essay

The dissertation for the first time substantiates: pedagogical conditions (actualization of civic values, motivation of applicants in the optimal combination of innovative forms, technologies, active teaching methods; acquisition of professional knowledge based on enrichment and emphasis on civic issues in academic disciplines; inclusion of applicants in extracurricular and practical activities for the formation of their own civic position for civic activity in professional practice) and a model for the formation of civic culture of future foreign language teachers in training, which includes the following blocks and their components: aim-methodological (purpose, approaches, principles), content-procedural (stages and content, innovative forms, technologies, active teaching methods), evaluation-effective (criteria, indicators, levels, diagnostic tools, results).The essence of the key concepts of the research is clarified: “civic culture of future foreign language teachers” (holistic, integrative personal characteristics, which includes motives, values, knowledge, activity, personal responsibility, openness to interethnic communication in solving professional problems) and “formation of civic culture of future foreign language teachers in the process of professional training”. Formation of civic culture of future foreign language teachers in the process of professional training is defined as a purposeful process of learning civic norms, development of attitudes, motives, values and qualities inherent in the citizen of a democratic society, which, becoming more active, provide an opportunity to effectively perform professional functions, a conscious attitude to society and the state, people and socio-political phenomena, which is manifested in public behavior; acquisition of civic skills and experience of participation in the socio-political life of society; openness to language communication and the implementation of interpersonal and intercultural communication. The criteria for the formation of civic culture of future foreign language teachers and their indicators are specified: motivational and value (system of conscious motives, goals, needs, values, qualities that interests in civic knowledge and civic activity), cognitive (system of acquired professional and civic knowledge and concepts), behavioral-activity (formation of professional skills, inclusion in various types of social activities in order to acquire and develop moral and value experience of civic behavior based on compliance with moral and legal norms, development of adequate self-assessment and self-analysis of the results of various forms of civic activity) and the levels of their formation: high, medium, low.It was improved the content of educational normative “Pedagogy”, “Political Science and Sociology”, “Local History”, “History and Culture of Ukraine”, “Methods of teaching a foreign language”, “Practical English course”, “Practical grammar” and elective subjects “Fundamentals of scientific pedagogical research”, “Youth and modern society”; forms, methods, technologies of formation of civic culture of future foreign language teachers.
