Essay

The dissertation analyzed the spread of erosive-ulcerative diseases of the gastroduodenal zone among servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, identified epidemiological features and dynamics of erosive-ulcerative lesions (EUL) of the stomach and duodenum among servicemen of different categories who were treated in clinical centers of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The main part of the research was concerned with the study of risk factors, "aggression" and "protection" factors, clinical and pharmacoeconomic effectiveness of treatment regimens for servicemen with H.pylori-associated and non-H.pylori-associated erosive-ulcerative diseases of the gastroduodenal area (GDA). The topicality of the problem of erosive-ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract is determined by the prevalence of these changes in the mucous membrane of the gastroduodenal zone in diseases of the digestive system, which are mostly chronic as usual. Despite modern advances in medicine, digestive diseases occupy one of the leading places in the overall structure of morbidity of servicemen and civilians, are characterized by chronicity of the process, often atypical course, a wide range of complications that significantly impair the quality of life of patients. In addition, there is an increase in the incidence of acid-dependent diseases of the stomach and duodenum in servicemen who directly participated in hostilities in eastern Ukraine. It should be noted that the increase in the incidence of EUL in combatants is often the result of combat trauma, which directly or indirectly leads to damage to the gastric and duodenum mucosa. Such diseases are characterized by recurrent course and complications and in the long run may have negative social consequences.
