Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the improvement of the technology of intake of water from the Kamyanska anti-filtration system, which filters through the banks and dams of embankments from the Kakhovske reservoir and floods the adjacent low-lying areas. In order to protect the surrounding areas from technological hazards like water logging from Dnipro’s reservoirs, anti-filtration protection systems have been built, in which one of the main are drainage structures designed to collect and drain infiltration water. However, their operation eventually loses efficiency; obsolete equipment is unreliable, energy consuming, unenvironmental, and costly. The dissertation covers the use of existing technologies of water intake by systems of antifiltration protection of territories from flooding. Despite numerous publications and scientific developments on optimizing the operation of anti-filtration systems, many important issues remain unresolved, in particular: optimization of vertical drainage systems for intake and remove of water, which are filtered through the shores and dams of embankments from reservoirs and flood the surrounding areas, ways of using this water, it preparation for use, etc. The work of vertical drainage with airlift method of water intake of protective systems of the left bank of Kakhovske reservoir within the lowlands of Kamyansky hearth (Kamyanka-Dniprovsky district of Zaporozhya region) is analyzed, the reasons of low efficiency of drainage of Kamyanska anti-filtration system are determined and ways to improve it are suggested in order to reduce construction and operational structures in anti-filtration systems and ways of using the water after their appropriate treatment and preparation.
