The dissertation is devoted to the complex pharmacognostic study of vegetable marrow leaves of three species: vegetable marrow, yellow and green zucchini, obtaining and phytochemical study of the medicinal product on their basis, developing parameters of standardization of prospective plant raw materials and medicinal products on their basis. With the help of chemical and physico-chemical research methods, the quantitative content of at least 78 biologically active substances was identified and determined in zucchini raw material, including 9 monosaccharides, 5 organic acids, 18 amino acids, 1 phenylcarboxylic, 1 hydroxycarboxylic, 4 hydroxycinnamic acids, 5 flavonoids, 1 coumarin, 14 fatty acids, 1 triterpenoid and 19 mineral compounds. A comparative study of the morphological and anatomical structure of zucchini leaves of the researched varieties was carried out, and standardization parameters were proposed. A study of acute toxicity and determination of pharmacological activity, in particular antimicrobial activity, of a thick extract from zucchini leaves was conducted.
