Essay

The dissertation is devoted to increase the effectiveness of patients with partial loss of teeth prosthetic treatment after laboratory and clinical comparative evaluation of acrylic and thermoplastic bases materials for removable dentures fabrication. The task of the research: to study elastic and strength properties of thermoplastic denture base materials compared to acrylic ones, according to the results of laboratory tests of tensile and crack resistance; to study destruction dynamics of thermoplastic and acrylic base materials under the action of quasi-static loading, using the phenomenon of acoustic emission; to determine the degree of surface roughness of thermoplastic and acrylic polymer samples processed with various polishing pastes using profilometry and scanning electron microscopy; to analyze opportunistic microorganisms adhesive ability to base materials polished with various pastes; to evaluate clinical and functional features of patients adaptation during prosthetic rehabilitation with thermoplastic and acrylic partial removable dentures resin a comparative aspect. The object of the research: constructions of partial removable dentures made of thermoplastic and acrylic polymersin the process of functional use. The subject of the study: experimental comparison of studied materials physical and mechanical properties (using the acoustic emission method) and their surface roughness after polishing. Research methods: analytical, laboratory, clinical, statistical. In the course of the dissertation work on the basis of the Dental Medical Center and the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of Danylo Halytsky LNMU examination of 60 patients was conducted and they were divided into 2 groups and 2 subgroups. Thirty patients of the first group had partial removable dentures made of thermoplastic material "Vertex™ ThermoSens", of which, in the first subgroup, 15 patients had removable dentures polished with "BlueShine" paste, and in the second subgroup, 15 patients - with "ThermoGloss" paste. The second group consisted of 30 patients who were delivered with partial removable dentures from acrylic copolymer "Villacryl H Plus" or "Ftorax". Among them, 15 patients of the first subgroup had removable dentures polished with "BlueShine" paste, and 15 patients of the second subgroup - with "ThermoGloss" paste. We developed a method for determining the moment of cracks initiation in base materials by the acoustic emission method, conducted ananalysis of the surface roughness of base materials, and conducted a clinical assessment of the functional and aesthetic rehabilitation of patients.
