The object of research is the cultural and artistic sphere of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Lviv regions, cultural and leisure activities of club-type institutions of Ukraine.The purpose of the study is to study and generalize the main trends in the organization and patterns of the development of cultural and leisure activities of club institutions of Western Ukraine at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 21st centuries, to develop recommendations for the creative use of their experience in the socio-cultural activities of the region (based on the materials of the Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Lviv regions).Research methods. When analyzing the theoretical and practical aspects of the management of special events in the cultural and leisure activities of club-type institutions in Western Ukraine at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the centuries, the following approaches were used: interdisciplinary, which involves the combination of different fields of knowledge in order to solve the intended problems and expand scientific experience; concrete-historical, cultural, sociological, and system-structural, which allow establishing connections and interractions between the elements of the concept of «special events management» and emphasize the emergent (special) properties of the newly formed system; institutional – for identification of the typology of club establishments; comparative – to determine the common and distinctive features in the activity of club institutions of different regions of Western Ukraine.Theoretial and practical significance. The materials of the dissertation research are used in the educational process of the Vocational College of Culture and Arts (Kalush) in the teaching of the educational disciplines «Leisure Studies», «Fundamentals of Management of Socio-Cultural Activities», «Educational Practice in Management», «Organization of Events, Innovative Approaches in the Organization of Cultural-Leisure Activities».Cultural and recreational, artistic, creative projects, trainings, lectures, youth forums, auction of mentors, charity actions, auctions were prepared and conducted, and a Record of Ukraine was established.Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is determined by its purpose, the set of research tasks, the subject of research. In the dissertation for the first time: the theoretical and practical experience of event technologies in the cultural and leisure activities of club-type institutions in Western Ukraine at theend of the 20th – beginning of the 21st centuries is analyzed and summarized; the historical retrospective of the formation of club institutions of the Western Ukrainian region in the XIX–XXI centuries is substantiated, their periodization and typology are established; the activity, development and cultural potential of club establishments are characterized; strategic perspectives of the system of functioning of club institutions are defined; the practical significance of event technologies in cultural and leisure activities as a leading type of activity of club-type institutions is highlighted; the role of mass holidays in the system of event technologies in cultural and leisure activities is defined; the significance of concert activities, entertainment shows, contests and festivals in the context of modern transformations for club-type cultural institutions was revealed; introduced into scientific circulation and analyzed a significant number of new scientific sources, documents and facts for leisure studies; methodical and practical recommendations for the application of experience have been developed in club activities; analyzed the network of club establishments in Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ternopil region, Lviv region, their personnel, information on material and technical base and financing in 2018–2022; classification of club formations was carried out. Clarified: the content of the «management» category. A new perspective is offered: on event technologies in cultural and recreational activity.
