Poliakovska O. Development of the System of Foreign Students' Training at Higher and Professional Pre-Higher Education Institutions of Kryvyi Rih (1960s – Early 21st Century)

This academic work constitutes a historical-pedagogical research focused on highlighting the issue of the development of the system for foreign students’ training in higher and professional pre-higher education institutions in Kryvyi Rih from the 1960s to the early 21st century, applying a retrospective analysis perspective. The objective of the dissertation is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the dynamics in the development of the system for foreign students’ training in institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education in Kryvyi Rih from the 1960s to the early 21st century. It aims to bring to light the experiences of leading educational institutions in Kryvyi Rih for creative application to enhance the export of educational services from Ukrainian institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education. The research object is the process of foreign students’ training in Ukrainian institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education. The subject of the study is the organizational system and content of the foreign students’ training in institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education in Kryvyi Rih (1960s – early 21st century). The dynamics in the development of the system for foreign students’ training in institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education in Kryvyi Rih from the 1960s to the early 21st century are comprehensively analyzed. The source base and historiography of the identified problem are characterized. The theoretical and methodological foundation is established, and the essence of basic concepts is explained. The study identifies periods and stages in the development of the phenomenon under investigation: the first period being administratively-centralized (1960–1990), and the second period being democratic-regional (1991 – present). Elements of positive experience from institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education in Kryvyi Rih in working with foreign students during the studied period are outlined for consideration in the modern development of the domestic system of higher and professional pre-higher education. The main conclusions and provisions of the dissertation can be applied in the work of managers of institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education in Ukraine to improve the organization of the activities of structural units coordinating the process of foreign students’ training and determining the main directions of internationalization in the educational process.
